How to Choose the Correct Solenoid

• Verify application: Confirm engine model and year for correct fitment.
• Match terminal layout: Check stud size, terminal count, and connector style.
• Confirm mounting style: Bracket and mounting location can vary by setup.

Common Symptoms of a Bad Solenoid

• Clicking sound, no crank: solenoid energizes but doesn’t pass power to the starter
• Intermittent starting: starts sometimes, fails other times
• No response when turning key: may be solenoid, wiring, switch, or battery related
• Hot terminals or melted wiring: high resistance or poor connections

Before Replacing the Solenoid

• Check battery voltage and battery condition
• Inspect battery cables and engine grounds for corrosion
• Verify fuse/breaker protection and ignition switch operation
