Chrysler Force Switch Boxes (CDI Ignition Modules)

Shop switch boxes (CDI ignition modules) for Chrysler Force outboards. The switch box controls spark timing and distributes ignition voltage to the ignition coils. A failing switch box is a common cause of no-spark and intermittent ignition problems.

What Does a Switch Box Do?

The switch box receives signals from the stator and trigger (pulser coil) and sends controlled voltage to the ignition coils. If the switch box fails, spark delivery may stop completely or affect one or more cylinders.

Common Symptoms of a Bad Switch Box

  • No spark on one or all cylinders
  • Engine will not start
  • Intermittent shutdown while running
  • Loss of spark at higher RPM
  • One cylinder not firing properly

Before Replacing the Switch Box

  • Test stator output voltage
  • Inspect trigger (pulser coil) signals
  • Check ignition coil resistance
  • Inspect grounds and wiring connections

Voltage drop or poor wiring connections can mimic switch box failure. For proper marine wire sizing and amperage drop guidance, review our Marine Wire Selection & Amperage Drop Guide .

Always confirm engine model and serial number before ordering ignition components.
