How to Order Bulk Fuel Hose

Type B Marine Fuel Hose

Marine fuel hose classifications identify how the hose is intended to be used within a boat's fuel system.

Type B fuel hose is commonly used for exposed or above-deck applications where that hose classification is appropriate. It does not carry the same additional fire-test classification as Type A marine fuel hose.

Why Do Two 1/4" Hoses Use Different Clamps?

The 1/4" measurement refers to the hose's inside diameter. It does not determine the outside diameter of the hose.

Type A and Type B hose use different constructions and wall thicknesses, so their outside diameters can be different even when both have a 1/4" inside diameter.

That is why the MPI 315-014 Type B hose uses Oetiker 4-133, while the MPI 314-1 Type A hose uses Oetiker 4-170.
