Chrysler Force Starter Motors

Shop starter motors for Chrysler Force outboards. The starter engages the flywheel to crank the engine during starting. If your engine clicks, cranks slowly, or won’t crank at all, the starter system (battery, cables, solenoid, and starter) is the place to diagnose first.

How to Choose the Correct Starter

  • Verify engine model and year: Starter fitment can vary by horsepower and production range.
  • Confirm tooth count and rotation: Starters may differ by drive gear configuration.
  • Check mounting style: Bolt pattern and nose design must match your application.

Common Starter Symptoms

  • Clicking, no crank: often solenoid, battery, cables, or poor connections
  • Slow cranking: weak battery, corrosion, voltage drop, or worn starter
  • Grinding / slipping: starter drive gear engagement issues
  • Intermittent starting: loose terminals, failing solenoid, or worn internal contacts

Voltage drop from corroded or undersized wiring can mimic starter failure. For guidance on selecting marine-grade wire and understanding amperage/voltage drop, see our Marine Wire Selection & Amperage Drop Guide .
