Outboard engines use several interconnected systems. Select your manufacturer above to browse the exact categories available for your engine, including the following common repair and maintenance areas.
Common Outboard Problems and Where to Start
- Engine overheating: inspect the water pump, impeller, thermostat, pressure-control components, cooling passages, and engine anodes.
- Hard starting or rough idle: check fuel delivery, carburetor or injector operation, spark plugs, ignition components, filters, and intake sealing.
- Weak spark or no spark: test ignition coils, stators, switch boxes or ignition modules, sensors, wiring, grounds, and related electrical components.
- Low compression or poor power: inspect pistons, rings, cylinder condition, head and powerhead gaskets, bearings, and other internal engine components.
- Milky gear lube: inspect prop shaft, driveshaft, shift shaft, bearing carrier, and other lower unit seals for water intrusion.
- Lower unit or gearcase noise: inspect bearings, gears, clutch components, shafts, and gear lube condition before continued operation.
- Trim or steering problems: inspect hydraulic fluid level, seals, hoses, trim motors, pumps, steering cylinders, and mechanical connections.

Pro Marine carries both genuine OEM parts and quality aftermarket replacement parts for many outboard maintenance, repair, and rebuild applications. Always confirm fitment using the engine model, serial number, horsepower, year range, or OEM part number when available.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the correct parts for my outboard motor?
Start by identifying the engine manufacturer, horsepower, model number, serial number, and year. Select the manufacturer above to browse by engine system, or use the OEM parts lookup to locate the original part number from a factory diagram.
Can I search Pro Marine by OEM part number?
Yes. If you already have the OEM part number, enter it into the Pro Marine site search to locate available OEM and aftermarket replacement options. If you do not know the part number, use the OEM parts lookup first.
What information should I have before ordering an outboard part?
Have the engine manufacturer, horsepower, model number, serial number, and year whenever possible. An OEM part number from the original component or parts diagram is especially helpful because visually similar parts may fit different engine families.
What is the difference between OEM and aftermarket outboard parts?
OEM parts come from the original engine manufacturer. Aftermarket parts are replacement components manufactured by other marine parts companies for compatible applications. Pro Marine carries both OEM and aftermarket options across many common outboard engine systems.
Are aftermarket outboard motor parts reliable?
Quality aftermarket marine parts are commonly used for maintenance, professional repair, and engine rebuilding. The best option depends on the application, manufacturer, availability, and customer preference.
Do you carry parts for older outboard motors?
Yes. Pro Marine carries parts for many older Mercury, Mariner, Johnson, Evinrude, Chrysler, Force, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Nissan, and Tohatsu outboards. Availability varies by engine family and component.
What outboard parts are commonly replaced during routine maintenance?
Common maintenance items include engine oil, oil filters, fuel filters, spark plugs, water pump impellers, complete water pump kits, thermostats, gear lube, drain plug seals, anodes, and manufacturer-specific service kit components.
Fitment Tip: Outboard parts can vary by model, serial range, horsepower, and production year. Confirm the OEM part number or engine identification information whenever possible before ordering.

Mercury changed the fuel pumps inside the FSM at different serial breaks while continuing to use this seal kit on many applications.
Use the engine family and serial number to select the correct pump from the guide below. Do not choose an FSM pump by horsepower alone.
Mercury FSM Fuel Pump Selection Guide
Use this section to identify the pumps commonly found inside the Fuel Supply Module that uses the 7333 / 8M0133370 seal kit.
Low-Pressure Fuel Pumps
The low-pressure pump keeps the Fuel Supply Module supplied with fuel so the high-pressure side can operate correctly.

What This Seal Kit is Used For
Mercury Fuel Supply Modules contain electric fuel pumps, fuel passages, regulators and sealing surfaces that must remain fuel-tight. Whenever the module is disassembled for pump replacement or internal service, the O-rings and seals should be carefully inspected.
The Pro Marine 7333 / Mercury 8M0133370 seal kit provides replacement seals for compatible FSM assemblies so the module can be properly resealed during service.
When Should I Replace the FSM Seals?
- Whenever the Fuel Supply Module is opened for major service
- When replacing a high-pressure fuel pump
- When replacing a low-pressure fuel pump
- When existing seals are flattened, swollen, cracked or damaged
- When repairing an FSM fuel leak
- When contamination or deterioration is found during disassembly
Why Service the Entire Fuel Supply Module?
Fuel-pressure problems can originate on either side of the FSM. A weak low-pressure pump can starve a perfectly good high-pressure pump, while a failed high-pressure pump may prevent the EFI system from reaching operating pressure even when the module has plenty of fuel.
Before replacing components, test both fuel delivery and fuel pressure. If the module must be opened, inspect both pumps, electrical connections, fuel passages and all seals while access is available.

FAQ
What OEM number does Pro Marine 7333 replace?
Pro Marine 7333 replaces Mercury FSM seal kit
8M0133370.
Is this a VST seal kit or an FSM seal kit?
It is used to reseal compatible Mercury Fuel Supply Module assemblies.
These fuel modules are also commonly referred to as VST / fuel module
assemblies when discussing marine EFI fuel-system service.

Yes. Fitment includes numerous 200-400HP L6 Verado, Pro Verado and Racing
applications shown above.
Does this fit Mercury 3.4L V6 and 4.6L V8 engines?
Yes. The verified fitment includes multiple V6, V8, SeaPro, Pro XS,
Verado and Racing configurations.
Does it fit the Mercury V10?
Yes. The supplied Mercury catalog fitment includes select 5.7L V10
Verado, SeaPro and Racing applications.
Does it fit Mercury V12 engines?
Yes. Verified fitment includes select 500HP and 600HP 7.6L V12 SeaPro

Which fuel pump goes with this seal kit?
There is no single pump for every application. The correct low-pressure
and high-pressure pumps vary by engine family and FSM serial range.
Use the Fuel Pump Selection Guide above.
Should the seals be replaced when changing an FSM pump?
Inspect the seals whenever the Fuel Supply Module is opened. Replacing worn,
damaged or disturbed seals while the module is apart helps prevent having to
disassemble the FSM again for a leak.
How do I confirm fitment?
Verify the engine model and serial number and confirm that the Mercury
Fuel Supply Module diagram calls for seal kit
8M0133370.

What This Part is Used For
The helm is the steering control unit mounted behind the steering wheel at the dash. This Mercury 8M0137449 helm is used when replacing the standard fixed-position helm in a compatible Verado power steering system.
If the steering system has been converted, repaired, or mixed with later-generation pump components, verify the helm, hose, pump, and harness requirements before ordering.
