Pro Marine 5801P uses the push-to-choke ignition-switch configuration found on compatible Johnson and Evinrude remote-control systems.
Turning the key operates the ignition and starter circuits, while pressing the key inward activates the choke or starting-enrichment circuit on compatible engines.
This allows normal starting and choke control through one ignition switch rather than requiring a separate choke button.
Safety Lanyard and Engine Cut-Off Function
The 5005801-style ignition-switch assembly incorporates the compatible engine cut-off safety lanyard system.
When properly connected, the lanyard allows the engine cut-off system to stop the engine if the operator is unexpectedly moved away from the helm.
