What This Part is Used For
The Mercury 8M0082911 air filter installs in the Integrated Air Fuel Module on the applicable 75-115 HP EFI FourStroke engines.
Mercury designed this filter to provide the correct amount of filtered incoming air for efficient fuel consumption and combustion.
The filter helps reduce dirt and debris entering the engine's intake system while maintaining the airflow needed for normal operation.
Mercury Air Filter Construction
Mercury describes 8M0082911 as a formed, flexible composite filter with an M-pattern filter screen.
The design is intended to provide the required filtered airflow for the applicable Mercury FourStroke engine family.
Why Air Filter Condition Matters
A dirty, damaged or deteriorated air filter can restrict incoming air or allow contamination into the intake system.
Periodic inspection helps identify:
- Dirt or debris buildup
- Restricted airflow
- Damaged filter-screen material
- Cracking or deterioration
- Physical damage to the filter body
Air filters are easy to overlook compared with oil filters, fuel filters and spark plugs.
Inspect the filter periodically and replace it if it is dirty, damaged, restricted or deteriorated. Follow the maintenance schedule in the Mercury owner's or service manual for your specific engine.
