What a Carburetor Float Does
The carburetor float works together with the needle and seat assembly to maintain proper fuel level inside the carburetor bowl.
Maintaining the correct fuel level helps provide stable idle, clean throttle response, proper fuel delivery, and reliable engine operation.
Over time, carburetor floats may absorb fuel, crack, stick, or lose buoyancy, causing flooding or inconsistent fuel delivery.
Replacing worn carburetor floats during carburetor rebuild service helps restore reliable fuel system performance.
