The Mercury Fuel Supply Module receives fuel from the boat's fuel system and supplies fuel to the engine at the pressures required for electronic fuel injection. Inside the FSM, the low-pressure and high-pressure pumps perform different jobs.

What This Fuel Pump is Used For

The low-pressure pump supplies fuel into and through the Mercury Fuel Supply Module or Vapor Separator. Its job is to keep the module supplied with enough fuel for the high-pressure portion of the EFI system.

On applications with separate low- and high-pressure pumps, the low-pressure pump does not create the final injection pressure. Instead, it keeps the reservoir supplied so the high-pressure pump can deliver the fuel pressure required by the injectors.
