What This Part is Used For

The exhaust valve stem seal fits around the exhaust valve stem and helps control the amount of engine oil passing between the valve stem and valve guide.

The exhaust valve operates in a particularly high-temperature area of the cylinder head. The valve stem seal must provide controlled lubrication to the valve stem and guide while limiting excessive engine oil from entering the exhaust port or combustion chamber.
